Welcome to cyberdeck.club
We're glad you're here. Before you jump into sharing builds, asking questions, or posting in the forum, please take a moment to read through our community guidelines.
Our Community Values
cyberdeck.club is a space for cyberdeck builders, hackers, and enthusiasts — especially those who've historically been left out of tech and maker spaces. Women, femmes, queer folks, beginners, and anyone who's ever been told "that's not how it's done" are not just welcome here — this space was built for you.
We celebrate cyberdecks as aesthetic expression and creative self-defense. Whether your build is a Polly Pocket with a Raspberry Pi inside, a vintage clamshell compact, or a souped-up Pelican case — it counts. There are no gatekeepers here.
Be Excellent to Each Other
- Celebrate creativity, not specs. A cyberdeck is more than its processor speed. Comment on what makes a build unique, not what it lacks.
- Constructive feedback only. If someone asks for help, offer solutions, not criticism. "Have you considered..." beats "Why would you..."
- Respect pronouns and names. Use the display name someone chooses. If you're unsure, ask politely.
- No question is too basic. We were all beginners once. Asking "how do I solder?" takes courage, not weakness.
What's Not Okay
- Harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behavior — including but not limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or any form of hate speech.
- Gatekeeping. Telling someone their cyberdeck "isn't a real cyberdeck" is not cool. Different aesthetics, different skill levels, different contexts — all valid.
- Spam and self-promotion without contribution. Feel free to share your builds, but don't just drop links and disappear.
- Doxing or sharing personal information without consent.
- Content that violates others' intellectual property. Credit inspire-ers, attribute properly, and keep it original (or clearly mark derivatives).
- Harassing someone over their tools or creative process. Whether someone uses AI tools or doesn't is their call — bullying people about how they make things is not okay.
Privacy and Safety
Your privacy matters. We don't require real names, and we respect the choice to stay anonymous. Don't push others to reveal more than they're comfortable sharing.
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, flag it for moderators. We take reports seriously and will respond appropriately.
Keep It Warm
This isn't a corporate code of conduct. It's a bunch of makers, builders, and creative weirdos trying to make cool things together. Be friendly. Be patient. Be yourself (preferably the kind version).
